Wayne, IL- May 10, 2016 - Each year the Chicago area's Showplace Productions Spring Spectacular breaks entry records for good reason. Show manager Patrick Boyle produces a thoughtfully-crafted, action-packed three weeks of competition. This year the annual event is slated for June 7-26.  Here are the top seven reasons why Spring Spectacular is hailed as one of the most popular shows in the nation.

1. Spring Spectacular offers innovative jumper classes and more prize money. 
 
There’s the $20,000 Open Welcome Stake every Thursday. And each Saturday afternoon spectators gather to watch exciting grand prix show jumping. Here’s the lineup:

This year, Showplace Productions offers an all-new $150,000 1.30m series presented by Marshall & Sterling at their Ledges and Lamplight shows. Check the prize list for details. During Spring Spectacular a $15,000 1.30m Grand Prix is scheduled every Friday. During Showplace Fall Classic the series leading horse and rider wins a $10,000 bonus. The leading trainer of the series earns a $5,000 gift voucher from Devoucoux! The the leading rider of the series wins a CWD saddle!
 
For the junior and amateur jumpers Spring Spectacular offers $2500 High and Low Accumulator classes during Week II and $5000 High and Low Gamblers’ Choice during Week III.  Juniors and Amateurs may also look forward to a $10,000 NAL/ Marshall & Sterling Low Junior/Amateur Classic each week. In addition a $10,000 Show Jumping Hall of Fame (SJHF) High Junior/Amateur Classic is scheduled Week I and II. Week III culminates with a $20,000 SJHF High Junior Amateur Classic.
 
2. Showplace Productions supports professionals. 
 
Showplace Productions offers professionals a fantastic way to show their young jumpers in classes with no entry fees. Only the Young Jumper Championship class for each section will have an entry fee. The regular classes will be free.
 
Free Tuesday schooling is offered in Jumper Ring Five, including full jumper courses at varying heights at designated times. This is the perfect opportunity to school youngsters and try and present prospects to potential buyers.
 
3. Hunters rule at Spring Spectacular. 
 
World Championship Hunter Rider (WCHR) events during Week III include the $10,000 USHJA National Hunter Derby and $25,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, sponsored by Bull Run Farm.
 
Boyle invites everyone who competes in Kentucky and elsewhere during Spring Spectacular Weeks I and II to, “join us for our largest week of festivities and enjoy our Derby Week III." This is a great opportunity to compete in the a USHJA Derby in the Grand Prix Ring and earn points for WCHR standings. Also featured on Derby Day the $2500 Pony Hunter Derby and a $2500 2’6” Children’s/Adult Hunter Derby, sponsored by Wisconsin Equine.

Weeks I and II Showplace offers $1000 Pre Green Hunter Incentive Challenges with a $2500 final Pre Green Hunter Challenge during Week III. Spring Spectacular offers a full array of professional, junior, children’s, amateur and pony hunter classes and classics each week during Spring Spectacular.
 
4. Equitation is key. 
 
Showplace Spring Spectacular offers equitation classes for riders of every age at every height. Earn points for ASPCA Maclay, WIHS, USEF Show Jumping Talent Search, Marshall & Sterling Horsemanship Medal, Taylor Harris National Children’s Medal and more.
 
The Showplace Equitation Championship is scheduled for Sunday morning during Week III. Junior riders are challenged to prove their horsemanship skills on their own. Competitors will walk the course, school and compete without the help of a professional, testing their ability to answer the questions presented by the course designer.
 
5. Speaking of equitation, check out the New National Collegiate Equestrian Association Junior Hunt Seat Medal. 
 
All Showplace Productions events will present the NCEA 3’3’’ Junior Hunt Seat Medal class for all junior equitation riders with East and West Coast Finals for the top 50 ranked riders hosted by HITS Horse Shows.
 
6. The. Best. Parties. Ever.  
 
Enjoy sushi from Shakou Sushi Thursdays Week II and III, ice cream every Saturday and Jersey Mike’s each week. Eat, dance, be merry and groove to live music every Friday and Saturday afternoon at the Lamplight pavilion.

Gene and Georgettis, a Chicago institution since 1941, will host the Derby Day luncheon. Boyle insists you check out their new location in Rosemont. He says it is one of the best meals you will ever have.
 
Tuesday Week II Andrea Redmond’s Niche restaurant in downtown Geneva hosts the Spring Spectacular trainers’ reception. Boyle recommends Niche as a top pick for dining during the series.
 
7. Unsurpassed value for VIP tables.
