Two trailblazing leaders to be recognized for their commitment to neurological health, neurodiversity, leadership and service.
New York – August 7, 2025 – GallopNYC’s leadership announced that Alysia Steinmann, Metro New York City Office Managing Partner of Ernst & Young LLP (EY US), will be honored at its 20th Anniversary Gala on Oct. 15 at Current at Chelsea Piers. In addition, GallopNYC will honor rider Regina Schroeder at the Gala for her extraordinary commitment to advancing neurological health and her steadfast support of therapeutic horsemanship. The gala will celebrate two decades of providing life-changing therapeutic equine-assisted programs to thousands of New Yorkers with disabilities, veterans and seniors.
A long-time GallopNYC supporter and a distinguished business community leader, Steinmann will be recognized for her exceptional contributions to inclusive leadership, workforce empowerment and advocacy on behalf of people with autism and her unwavering commitment to creating opportunities for underserved communities—values that are central to GallopNYC.
“The mission of GallopNYC resonates deeply with me because it embodies the spirit of empowerment and independence that we strive to foster in our communities,” Steinmann said. “Supporting therapeutic horsemanship transforms the lives of riders with disabilities and inspires us all to embrace our potential and contribute to a more inclusive society.”
As managing partner of EY’s Metro New York City region, Steinmann leads more than 14,500 professionals across New York City and the tri-state area. Her leadership has been instrumental in cultivating a culture of belonging while delivering high-quality service to some of the world’s most dynamic organizations.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Steinmann is a dedicated advocate for the neurodivergent community and their caregivers. A working mother of two sons with autism, she serves on the boards of NYC Autism Charter Schools and WhyHunger and represents EY on the New York Jobs CEO Council and the NYC Future of Work Task Force. She was named EY Working Mother of the Year in 2021 and continues to speak publicly on neurodiversity, inclusivity and work-life balance.

Diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1981, Schroeder has transformed her journey into a mission to create lasting impact—both in the lab and in the saddle.
As the founder and chief executive officer of the Mind Brain Philanthropic Foundation (MBPF), Schroeder has raised over $300,000 to fund early-stage neurological research at institutions like Weill Cornell Medicine. Her innovative spirit led to the launch of the MS StandUp campaign in 2023—a benefit comedy series at Gotham Comedy Club that brings levity and hope to the fight against MS.
Schroeder is a longtime rider at GallopNYC, where she experiences the therapeutic benefits of horsemanship firsthand. Her belief in the life-enhancing power of horses and her advocacy for community-based therapies perfectly align with GallopNYC’s mission. Schroeder has channeled personal adversity into action and her leadership is a model of resilience, compassion and purpose.
“We are thrilled to recognize Alysia Steinmann and Regina Schroeder at this milestone moment for GallopNYC,” said Board Chair Constance Hunter. “Their commitment to empowering others through leadership and service is an inspiration to our riders, families and the broader community.”
Proceeds raised at the Gala will enable GallopNYC to continue its long-standing tradition of offering programs that help participants build strength, discover their voice and grow in confidence through the transformative connection they form with horses.
