New York – May 13, 2025 – Join GallopNYC for their fourth annual spring event in Central Park.
WHAT:
GallopNYC invites New Yorkers of all ages to enjoy a free, unforgettable experience in the heart of Central Park. “A Day of Horses & Family Fun” will feature hands-on activities including hobby horse races, horse-themed arts and crafts, and the chance to meet GallopNYC’s gentle therapy horses. Guests will learn how GallopNYC’s therapeutic riding program changes lives every day—supporting individuals with and without disabilities to walk, talk and thrive through the transformative power of horsemanship.
"GallopNYC’s Day of Horses and Family Fun brings the healing power of horses to the heart of the city, offering an unforgettable experience for New Yorkers of all ages,” said NYC Parks Commissioner Sue Donoghue. “By combining recreation, education and inclusive programming, this event showcases how our parks can support wellness, build community, and create meaningful moments for everyone.”

Next to the ball fields, just east of the lower loop.

Presented by GallopNYC—New York City’s largest therapeutic equine-assisted nonprofit, serving more than 450 riders each week with programming tailored to a wide range of physical, emotional, and developmental needs.

Meet & greet with GallopNYC gentle therapy horses
Make-your-own hobby horse and ride-along
Horse-themed arts and crafts

GallopNYC harnesses the healing power of horses to support individuals in achieving independence, self-esteem and personal growth. This event brings that mission to Central Park, offering families and individuals a fun-filled opportunity to learn about therapeutic riding and inclusive horsemanship.
