IHSA Alum Laena Romond Wins Garden of Life Palm Beaches Women’s Half Marathon
Gladys, Va. – Dec. 23, 2024 – Normally, on a December morning, Heritage Farm trainer Laena Romond would be schooling horses, prepping for a show day in Wellington, Florida, where the program is based during the winter months. But on December 15, Romond instead found herself in race gear in downtown West Palm Beach, about to run a half marathon–and win. She finished the 13.1-mile race in 1 hour and 24 minutes, as the fastest woman.

Peter and Sherry Cashman Retire From USMA West Point Equestrian
Gladys, Va. – Nov. 25, 2024 – After nearly four decades at the helm of equestrian operations at the United States Military Academy (USMA) at West Point, New York, Peter and Sherry Cashman have officially retired. Peter, who is the executive director of the Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA), will remain active in his duties with the organization.
IHSA Alum Rowan Love Tops the 2024 MZ Farms/USHJA Emerging Athletes Program National Training Session
Gadys, Va.—Nov. 19, 2024—Rowan Love emerged as the top athlete among 16 standout participants after four intensive days of riding and stable management at the 2024 MZ Farms/USHJA Emerging Athletes Program National Training Session (EAP), held at Sweet Briar College in Sweet Briar, Virginia, from November 7-10. Love attended the University of Findlay and graduated in 2021 with a bachelor of science degree in equestrian management and an associate's degree in English riding and training.

New York, NY — Oct. 25, 2024 — GallopNYC hosted its annual Barn Dance, a night filled with celebration, inspiration and philanthropy, all to support its life-changing therapeutic experiences with horses. The event raised close to $500,000 to support GallopNYC’s programs that serve New Yorkers with disabilities, older adults, veterans and first responders.
